Employers - How to Avoid a €7000 Fine
There is an obligation for all Employers to maintain a Register of Employees. As a minimum you must be capable of producing a register which must include:
- The name, address and Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) of each employee
- The date of commencement of employment of each employee
- Where relevant, the date of cessation of employment of each employee
Failure to comply with these requirements will give rise to a penalty of €4,000 and if the employer is a Limited Company then an additional penalty of €3,000 will apply to the Company Secretary of that company.
